Abstract

The Human Development Index is a measure of overall development performance. This index was built through a basic three-dimensional approach, namely longevity and health, knowledge, and decent livelihood. The indicators that represent these three dimensions are summarized in one single value, the Human Development Index (HDI) number.The presentation of HDI figures starts from the national, provincial and district / city levels. Presentation of HDI by region allows each province and district / city to know the map of human development both in terms of achievement, position and disparity between regions. So that it is hoped that each region can be encouraged to work to improve development performance through increasing the basic capacity of the population and human development.During the period of 2010-2018 the Southwest Aceh HDI figures showed a fairly stable development. However, with the HDI value achieved, the importance of attention from the Southwest Aceh regional government is due to the decreasing value of the Southwest Aceh HDI in 2018 compared to other districts / cities in Aceh Province.
